Can someone explain what one is,and is it better than a stocker or billet version?

TTT,looking for info...........................................

Searched, got 6 hits 5 were cars for sale the other was a trans ad. No tech info.

I understand the servo extender pin,and how to set band clearence. I am looking for why people tap and screw in a set screw to a GN servo and remove the small lip seal. I have a core that TCI built like this and the Super servo I removed from a previous GN(for banging a 3-2 downshift) was also set up like this. Will someone take the time to explain or post a link?

I asked the same question awhile back:

http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/transmission-talk/207310-plugging-servo-bleed-orifice.html

From what I've read, the inner steel piston design is used mostly to soften a forced 3-2 kickdown by slowing the band apply. The piston wears and leaks, so they block the orifice and leave off the seal, using the piston only as a shim to keep everything where it belongs.

By all means someone correct me if i'm wrong.
