I got my hands on a Kidney plate. I cut out the A/C box and the plate blends in nice- alot more room around #6 cylinder. However, I need to cut down the Heater core- like 75%. The original core is 9 1/2" in height. I have to cut it to 3 3/8". I took it to a radiator shop and they said they can not make a core that short. Anyone modify there's? How did you do it? Larry:confused:

Bruce, can you tell me the overall height from the top of the tubes to the bottom of the base? Thanks Larry

I ripped out my heater box and AC and put a plate there. Then later regreted pulling it out and not being able to drive it when it gets cold. So I got the heater blower out of a Toyota Pathfinder. The heater blower comes with everything. A housing for the fan and blower motor aswell as a heater core thats about 5" x 8.5" with wiring harness. The whole unit is very small. The glove box on the passenger side can come apart. So I omitted the glove box so I could fit the heater assembly in its place, still keeping the door that opens and closes the glove box. The heater assembly is mounted on my plate that replaces the heater box. I have 2 holes drilled out for my heater core on the plate that I use the stock cooling system lines for. Ran a relay setup to a 2 speed switch (high and low speed) and I got all my space under my engine compartment and extremely hot heat that routed back through my factory vents. The only hang up is I can't control the heat to make it luke warm. Its just hot, but it works great. If it gets too hot I roll down the window a bit and keep the fan on low speed.

Gene, thanks for the photos. Do you remember the thickness of the core-- I can go 1-1/8 " max. Larry

Gene -

I'd appreciate seeing your pics as well. I checked my ATR catalog and found the listing for the parts but couldn't find any pics.

Thanks!
