WOOOOO-HOOOOO

I am glad I purchased a Denso pump, and I am sending my new/unused/been sitting in my trunk for a year walbroke in for an exchange and will put it up for sale for a pretty good price to the next willing victom.

Seriously, this is completely unsatisfactory to me that if the pump does not hold usable pressure - that it will not be replaced. And to charge $40 to test it is even more BS.

I will keep an eye for any changes here, but pretty much expect that this will be the end all support we will get. As I have stated to people on the phone, I do appreciate the leg work that has been done for this matter, but very much am dissappointed with the results from the manufacturer. I can give a crap less if someone want to argue that it is a performance part and nothing can be expected of warranties for performance parts. That is just stupid to ever agree with. Money for a part is still money. If my check bounces, is the recipient of that check is no longer deserving of the monitary funds because they accepted a check? NO... They deserve my money. Just like I deserve a part that should perform to its advertised specifications. PERIOD ! ! !

Just my $.02 American cents. Yes, I know... It is only a penny offered for my thoughts. But you all got a bargain here, because it is for free - this time, LOL...

Well don't be so quick to jump up and down about the denso pump! There is someone on the board already with a new denso pump issue..

And even if you send in your "new/unused/been sitting in my trunk for a year walbroke in for an exchange" doesn't mean you will automatically get a new pump! You just may end up getting your new/unused/been sitting in my trunk for a year walbroke right back if it tests out as (No problem)!

FWIW, I'm still using a Walbro product seeing there is already an issue with the denso pump. Time will tell if the denso pumps will hold up or not! Right now there is No related issues with the GSS340 Walbro mustang pump! Everything mounts right up to our TR pump hanger, The mustang filtersock fits fine with no machining. I plugs right up and your done!!

Just my american .02 worth.................

I've been using a F20000169 "Walbroke" pump since '05 and it's still rockin'.

The only person on the board that I have seen with a problem hooked up the wires backwards in polarity. He did contact Denso and they stated that it "should" not have caused any damage. But it sounded like he ran it several times and several seconds each occasion. There could actually be damage to it.

Now, as for my new/unused unit that has been sitting in my trunk. The word put out in this thread http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/ge...54-walbro-warranty-replacement-procedure.html they will be replaced. And here http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/general-turbo-buick-tech/271302-more-walbro-info.html , it appears to back up that data also. If it is unused, they are not testing and replacing. You may want to read some more on the posts. At least, that is what I am reading and not overlooking to just respond to someone to show them that I am more correct than they are.

Yes, time will tell about the Denso pumps. And there are no known problems with the 340 pump. Personally, I do not intend to support a manufacturer that will not back up their product to its full advertised ability. ie, not making pressure and as long as it flows gas, then we will charge you $40 to test and laugh at you becouse we have your money already. That is not who I want to deal with. I truly hope that ALL 340 pumps keeps pumping away and working great for everyone out there using them.

That problem seems to me to be in no way a pump issue. There almost has to be an issue with the return line with a restriction that will not allow enough flow back to the tank.

As for the first link... Jeff from VE Patterson did not create that post, nor does it look like he commented inside of it. That was Mikes post concerning his FTS sales and how it was to be handled. Althought I have never received an answer to how to handle the new pumps - if he still wants the pump only. But I will send it in that way.

For some reason, the second link is this thread. I am not sure what I may have been thinking I was leading to, but there are several posts on here that states that new/unused pumps that have been laying in a trunk should be replaced. BasAssGn quotes that the pump must be dead and that being a new one, but I do not see where that would have originated from.

Where is Jeff on here? Sort of like other vendors not responding to posts here when brought to the table. What is his user name? So we may know whom it is answering to know what to go by. All I know is that the vendor which I purchased my new/unused pump that has been in my trunk for a year stated that I would get a replacement pump. I was happy to hear that, and let me repeat what I have said to that vendor personally and on here... I appreciate the leg work that has been done by them. But I will not appreciate a manufacturer that will not back up their product and create false reasoning that a product is not failing just because it works at 70% of its advertised specifications.

Plain period "no black mailing here"... Just setting it straight where I stand at.

i just wanted to through this out there to possibly shed some light on the subject.....

In speaking with a "source" regarding this situation here is what I have.....

1) They are going to replace any defective pump (pump that has quite working)
2) They will replace any new/unused stock.

These replacement issues must be done throught the vender you purchased them from who will inturn contact the National Warehouse.

Walbro has determine and isolated a component issue from one of its supplier in 2007. Please note that not ever pump produced was bad (ask Mike stated), it was very speratic problem in production.

If you have a pump that is installed and working it has already been through the "heat cycle" and if it was going to fail it would have already.

In addition, from what I am told the pump that are sent back will have the date code documented and recorded and anything that may have been from 2006 or older is not covered and there is selective coverage in 2007 as not all pumps were affected. All pump sent back as "warranty" are tested to determine if the claim is truly valid.

I hope that any of this information is helpful. if anyone has any additional comment please tell.

Thanks,

JT
(Beamer) from the looks of this post this IS Jeff from VE Petersen!

His phone number is also listed in the first post for you to call and talk to him yourself.

Alittle info: Walbro only sells there pumps to TWO companys those being Holley & VE Petersen. Period! ALL other vendors MUST purchase there pumps through one of these two companys with that said ALL returns / recalls MUST go through them also. (Example)- If racetronix buy's his pumps from VE Petersen and like in this situation Walbro has a recall, They MUST go through VE Petersen (the company your vendor purchased them from)!

As mentioned in the above post from JT PERFORMANCE he has asked "if anyone has any additional comment please tell"..

Mybe he will chime in and answer your question/questions.
