More wiring woes

I'm so close to finally getting this thing done! when I was finishing up my wiring and getting ready to time the cam sensor I noticed I have 2 red wires and one pinkish wire coming out of the harness on the passenger side of the water pump, I'm thinking the two red ones go to the + side of the battery but I'm not positive(pun intended) the pink wire has a smaller ring so it can't go to the battery, I'm pretty much lost on this one(all three wires are pretty thick gauge almost three times thicker than the rest of the wires). I traced all the wires back to the rear of the fuse block on the firewall under the wiper motor. can you guys help me out so I can finally start this thing up?!?!

I have a full set of 85 TTYPE shop manuals. If the 85 is wired the same as an 84 I may be able to help. Where do these wires hook up to the fuse box? Brad

I do beleive now that they both go to the starter the pink being the ignition switch and the other going to the same bolt as the battery + cable. Brad you have the books maybe you could verify this?

Heavy gauge red wires

I recall having a similar problem a few years back. One wire went to the starter and the other went to the alternator. Not sure that helps but if the starter fires up as soon as you try connecting up the battery you have it wired wrong. Guess how I know?
