i was just at pep boy and they had castrol 4t 10w-40 4 stroke motorcycle oil with an api rating of SG. can this be used in our cars? i assume it has the higher amounts of zddp with that rating.
motorcycle oil also has stuff in it for the cluthes and best of my memory, isn't good for car motors.
I wouldn't use it in my cars. Great oil is too cheap to try to be cheap and save a buck.
Just my 1 cent.

wasn't trying to be cheap. although i am with everything else, i was trying to ascertain if the oil was usable as it has a higher zddp rating. The price was just a perk.
Other than the ZDDP and perhaps the S* rating on it, the thing about motorcycle oil is less detergents so the clutches work better from what I've read.
It may have less stuff in it rather than more stuff in it.
I agree if it's API rated it may work out fine ZDDP wise.
