I want to mount my intercooler tonight, but i have no room for tranny cooler....is it ok or any problems to mount the tranny cooler behind the intercooler? the intercooler that i have is the RJC megacooler..thanks Mike

I've got transmission and engine oil coolers behind my Cartek front mount. With this configuration I don't have any issues, although my intercooler is quite a bit smaller than the RJC unit.

I run my trans cooler attached to the core support cross bars, behind a Powerstroke FM. I have had no issues.

I have also seen tranny coolers with a built in fan mounted where the stock intercooler used to be.

I don't have pics of mine yet but like Eric, I mounted mine underneath. Mine is under the passenger bumper signal light. Horizontal and has a fan on in. Pulls air that is behind the headlamp area and pulls it straight down thru the cooler. Works VERY well. :)

Finally got a pic of where I mounted my cooler. Horizontal under the right front corner. Just behind the airdam.

It does hide the alky pump. :) **For Gone In Sixty: I don't have a temp guage on the cooler but I have used my laser thermometer and there is a good 55 degree drop across it. From 227 on the inlet side to 172 on the return side. I have run it down the road at full throttle thru 3rd gear and pulled over and "scanned" it real quick. If I just cruise it, it stays around 157 on the return side. Fan runs on high all the time from engine start to engine shut down.

That's cool but it would be in the way of an alky pump and a PTE remote oil system (turbo saver).

How you mounted it right in front of the condenser is how I had mine along with an oil cooler....................I had trouble every summer running a CAS V2 a CAS gigantic aluminum radiator and a CAS high volume water pump. The A/C didn't work worth a damn, when, well you know, when it was blazing hot in traffic and I needed it the most. The temp gauge would steadily rise when I ran the A/C and was not moving at cruise speed.
Then I swapped the FMIC for a Precision SLIC and now all is perfect, no more issues and the A/C is bloody well cold as ice all day long and the trans and oil cooler sit prominately right in front of the condense grabbing all the air. The car is way more drivable and screams just as well as it did with the front mount.

are you running a stock fan or dual....thanks

Dual fans, they made no difference compared to the CAS high volume fan I put on the car when I first bought the front mount 12 years ago. I am trying to save you frustration, if your car is not a race car and /or you do not live up north where its nice and cool all year you will have a hot engine and you won't be happy with it. The Precision unit is sweet, only mod I made is I swapped out the cheesy shroud screws for inserts and allen head screws, it is a really nice intercooler.

I might try moving the tranny cooler to the bottom left...so more air can get thru to the fans.....it have to go behind the intercooler, because i want a clean look in the front...its worth a try..thanks for your input hemi8
