Movie "The Car" questions....

Does anybody know what kind of car is featured in the movie "The Car" ?...It looked liked a chopped and heavily customized Lincoln Mark IV, or a Mercury Montego...Does someone knows the whereabouts of this car ? Does it still exists today? Whatever happened to it?... I'm just curious to know because I watched the movie a few days ago, and it got me wondering where could it be today?...It looked really mean!....

A classic car movie. I believe they use a big block Chevy for the sounds. Coincidentally, I'm watching it right now on the Sci Fi channel. Looks like a rolls royce grill and a Ford donor chassis.

my locak 1/18 diecast shop has them for sale. Might say on the box somewhere.

I always wondered what the hell "from the movie the Car" was.......

I even found out that ERTL makes a nice 1/18th scale diecast model of "The Car"...
I wonder if the movie is available in DVD format...I have an old VHS version that was copied from another cassette years ago, and the picture quality is not very good.
I you know if the real car still exists, or where it is now, it would be nice from you to let me know...

Movie the car on vcd or dvd.

I have the movie on VHS purchased last year off of ebay. I converted it over to a VCD that will play in dvd players. Tell me where to send it and I will put it on a dvd for you and mail it to you. I have been needing a reason to see the movie again. I will send it to anyone who wants it on vcd (CDR format) for free If you want it on dvd I ask for a blank dvd or 1.80 donation to cover the cost of em. The VCD will play in all newer DVD players of the last 5 yrs. VCD's will not play in xbox or ps2. Give me an email at rx4mike@yahoo.com if you want em. The quality is 4 head VHS. So it is good.

Thank you guys for all the replys!... My son gave me the 1/18th scale diecast of "The Car" for Christmas, and now I ordered the movie on dvd, and I should get it in two weeks....I already have it on a vhs cassette, but it is a copy of another cassette made several years ago and the picture isn't very good. I can't wait to see it again , this time, in crystal clear picture!!!
