N/A to carbturbo questions

okay... late 70's to 1980 carb buick 3.8 found in the Monza's... before I can get a newer (86/87) efi turbo motor and trans built up.. I wanna put a stock old turbo/carb on the stock n/a 3.8 motor

I know I'll need the pump/reg, lines to carb, turbo and carb, manifolds, intake, and assorted crossover and downpipe piping

I am assuming this will all swap over with little to no bolt on difficulty (I know room might require finessing here and there) ... any specific year turbo setup I should seek parts from? I am not gonna up the boost or anything wild like that... just bone stock turbo setup

and what about the distributor for the possibly different timing curve .. that too?

bout the only "performance" mods I will bother with will be ofcourse a custom exhuast off the turbo back, intake to carb, and more then likely an ignition

there are no emission checks here so no smog crap to worry about

If it were me, I'd go with a 1980 set up for a non-ECM system. (A 0.63 turbine housing off a 82/83 is good idea.)



Or I'd get the 86/87 exhaust and setup the engine up blow-thru carb style.
