OK, I was going through Scott's instructions from gnttype.org on how to run a fan switch, but I am having trouble locating the proper wire.

Which relay is the fan delay realy? Is it easiest to splice off right by the relay or is there a better place.

TIA

the fan delay relay is one of the three big relays on the drivers side of the engine bay nearest to the driver. it has 2 connectors going into the bottom of it. i dont kow how to hook up the DIY fan relay switch though so when you get yours done try to get some pics so i can see how its supposed to be wired.

It is very easy. You don't have to splice in, but you could.

Remove the back connector from the fan delay relay. Strip off 1/2" of insulation off a 16-18 ga wire. Put the uninsulated wire end into the open end of the connector where the green with yellow strip wire goes. Plug the connector back on to the relay.
Run the other end of this wire to an on/off switch and the other end of the switch to a good ground.
If your relay is good, when you turn the switch to on or ground the fan will run between 5-12 minutes and then shut off. If you open the ground by turning the switch to off the fan will stop.
You can do this once only. Then you must turn your ignition key to on & back to off to re-engizer the relay so that it will work again.

No extra relays needed.
