I have an '87 GN w/ a PT52 and Precision front mount, 3 in. DP, MSD 50's, etc.etc.

I just bought an orange stripe converter which is 2800-3000 stall. Does anyone have experience with this converter w/ a setup similar to mine? I was only able to build about 4 lbs of boost at the line w/ the stock converter. Hoping to double that with this converter. What you guys think?

if you can send that converter back.

some people have good luck with them but more times than not there not so great. i used to have one and it was worse than stock. it stalled higher but thats about it. i couldn't hold any extra boost, i didn't spool up any faster, nothing. i put a stock converter back in and was much happier. the best way to describe it was lazy. i think it was slipping more than stock but i can't be sure on that. either way i wasn't happy.

bite the bullet and get a nice 9" pats sells a good converter at a good price. thats the direction i was going to go. i really think its the best deal out there, the orange stripe is the cheapest because it IS cheap.

Pat's Performance

Pat's Performance Converter 10in Lockup Converter at about 3000-3200 Stall. About two hundred more than the orange stripe you have there. Pat's is well worth the money spent.

It is cheap like Denn454 said, and the proverbial you get what you pay for WILL come back to haunt you in the worst ways........
