I have a car that i need to get working on. Its an '80 malibu that i started putting a cage in, but have gotten more serious about the build up. I wanted to keep sort of the same design as the cage i put in but it needs to be chromoly and 12-14 pt. (legal to 7:50's) The person i had weld the cage did a crap job so it has to come out. Also i started doing the wheel tubs but they have to come out because of the cage, and then put back in which i am also looking to have done. Are there any good shops in NJ/PA/MD area, looking for basically a custom cage.

Larry King Race cars from Paoli, Pennsylvania, was my car. He fabricated it with two removable swing-out side bars, and painted it "GN grey" to match the interior. Total cost: $1,000. complete, ready to go. I'm very pleased with it!...That's it! 'bye, Claude.

Sounded like he was satified with his work. If you are interested in the NY area let me know.

I'm happy with mine. David Guenst in Souderton, PA did it. Total cost, with dual swingouts, new carpet, AND automotive grade paint (not spray paint) was right around $1100.

Note: I'm not affiliated with him in any way. Just a happy customer.

Banning,

Was this complete? I mean did you remove all the interior? What was the turn around time?
Thanks Jim

Yes, that was complete. All parts and labor. The only thing I took out was the center console (it was broken and I had to fix it). I made an appointment with Dave about two weeks ahead of time, droped the car off, and it was done in 3 days!

I'll be at Atco on the 23rd if you want to see the work. I've got a spare business card in the glove box too.

Thanks Banning.

Yes I'll be there & I'll Check it out.
The guys around here Are way out of the range I wanna go...

Thanks Again

Jim

You get what you pay for, and their reputation is impeccable. They did the work on Rockin' Rodney's 7 second GN (the 'flames car'), Racin' Jason's Mustang, Craig Paisley's Toyotas...
My 6-point cromoly cage (unpainted) cost under $1400 and was turned around in two weeks after the appointment date was made. They did as good a job on my "street" cage as they do on a top-dollar full tube chassis.
HTH,
Erik

Lary King Race Cars does great work. An old friend of mine had an awesome 6 point put in a 95 Z28. Flawless welds, stunning paint and the coolest style swing out bars i have seen yet. No pins, but an internal spring loaded piston inside the bar. Easy to opperate, and super clean looking. I don't think it was a cheap setup, but the quality was worth every penny.

BTW: The setup in Banning's T-Type is very nice too, (Good friend of mine, had the privilage to ride in it a few times). Quick turnaround too. Very clean install, the side bars are at just the right height, and the main hoop was installed in the location just as the customer requested it to be.
