Finally had time to tune my car in today via Direct Scan. Burnt a custom chip with 24* of timing with 20# of boost. The first set of data (24D_20lbsrun1) turned out ok except for the Boost PW. Anyone have an idea why it would repeatedly ramp up and down through the run? I'm thinking BAD wastegate solenoid???

The second set of data is what concerns me (24D_20lbsrun2). There are "blips" in the LV8, inj PW, MAF? All the numbers fall of for a millisecond and are back up to a norm. Happens 4-5 times within a run. Is this a software problem? Also the Boost PW is doing the same as the last run.

Pretty dissappointed on my HP and Torque numbers and have alot of room to improve. My car seems to like the the high boost/moderate timing cause these numbers are not all that impressive with 24*@ 20# with Alky. These are not runs at the track. Did not leave with boost as my tires will go up in smoke.

If you can help, just send a reply and I can email you the DS files. I am not sure how to post them here?

I'd be happy to take a look at them. I think I could answer just about all your questions without seeing them, but I'd like to have the traces in front of me to verify my suspisions.

I would like to have a look at your files too, send 'em over.

I would imagine the blips are causing the car to pop and sputter a bit??

I've been through some of the same issues with the errors in the datastream. Wrapping the DS ribbon cable with an aluminum lined tape should help. It acts as a RFI/EMI barrier and prevents ignition system noise from affecting the cable. I bought some suitable tape at Home Depot, it's sticky stuff about 4 mil thick with a thin aluminum foil backing.

I also tried plain aluminum foil but it did not work near as well as the tape.

Check the service bulletins at www.chuengineering.com for a description of this failure mode.

Hey bruce, send me your email addy and I will send you the files.. Thanks again all for the help!!!
