OK so my car has developed this problem in the last few weeks where it's popping and breaking up under boost over about 4500rpm.
So far I've changed the plugs(twice), wires, coil packs, module, crank sensor,TPS(needed it anyway), readjusted cam sensor(I would change it but can't find one), swapped MAF, and swapped ECM.It has gotten better from when it first showed up and broke up/popping all the way down the track eventually blowing an intercooler hose off.Now I get a few pops top of 2nd gear and a few more top of third.
The only thing I can think of from here is maybe the cam sensor is bad and gets screwey at higher rpm's but I don't know if it would do this.Or possibly a bad/broken or worn set of valvesprings. Then I'm always thinking could a partially blown headgasket cause this?I havent detonated the motor or leaned it out so they should be fine but you never know sometimes.
Any suggestions or idea's would be of great help.
Thanks in advance,
Steve
