Need Help Fast

can someone tell what may be wrong I have an 85gn that has the adapter plug to use the 86/87 coilpak and module well I mistakenly pluged the connector without the adapter and there was a little smoke coming from somewhere and now it will not start after putting the adapter back in I know that a wire must have burned but which ones to look for as of now I'm stranded a friends house untill I can figure this out please reply

Under the hood? Probably a fusable link at the starter. Go underneath and pull on them, might be the orange one. If one feels elastic, that's the bad one.

it turns over and gets fuel but it doesn't fire
