Need Help!!!!!Running rich???

New MAF sensor, Mat sensor, Air filter, coil pack and plugs. Car idled fine. When i drove it around town the check engine light came on and the car started to idle high. Now it has a rough idle and has black smoke coming from the tail pipe. What could this be?

IAC-Could not get the car to idle with IAC valve disconected!

What code did you get?
Did you try make the IAC adjustment with a scan tool?

Not showing a code, Just 12,12,12-
No scan tool.

Double check mass air flow make sure it is not on wrong. I had same problem. The direction was wrong way, you cannot really tell either by looking at it unless you really look at it. No codes either just 12.

I have it turned so the screws bolt to the braket. Looks like there is only one right way. Could sensor be bad? If so, Would the car run rich?

Could this be a bad 02 sensor? Car starts and idles,but when you give it gas it cuts out.

O2 sensor is only reading what is coming out exhaust. Yes Mass Air flow would make it run real rich.

MAF could very easilly have gone bad. There's NO consistency to those rebuild jobs. You're lucky, you got a few miles out of it.

But it does sound like you might want to try another.
