Hey guys, I will be installing the SMC Kit soon. The instructions say to hang it on the fan shroud. Maybe its just me but that new canister seems aweful large and bulky to hang there. What are you guys doing? It seems that I saw somewhere that somebody had pics of their concealment job, anyone know where that can be found? I want to do this right the first time with minimal drilling. :)

What I am in the process of doing is,install the battery in the trunk, and bought a fake battery from Jays. Cut the bottom out of the fake battery and mount the alky. bottle to the fenderwell where the original battery was[there is a recess already formed in the wheelwell] mount the bottle to the wheelwell and put the fake battery over the top. I got some red and black fuel line and run the wires and hose thru the fuel line tto make it resemble battery cables!

Now that is slick!!!!! Sounds like a lot of work. Fake battery?! That is too cool!!!!!:D

It's not really that much more work.We were going to put the battery in the trunk anyway. And as nice a kit as the SMC is you have to admitt that the bottle looks like it came out of Frankensteins laboratory.;)

I had mine installed on the frame in front of the battery. In the place I put it I could reach down in front of the battery through the core support and unscrew the lid and add alky w/ a funnel. I had the lines covered with black wire conduit and had a small black spray can top covering the nozzle so it looked like a sensor of some type. It was fun asking people where the alky kit was :-)

Mmmmmmm, alky...

BoostKillsStres, do you have any pictures of your setup? I've heard of mounting an alky tank in that location, but I wasn't sure if you could use the SMC tank for that location (physically- would it fit?). How far down does the tank sit past the support? Also, where did you install the nozzle? I agree, the SMC kits sound great (simple too), but seem kind of hokey just hanging off the shroud...

The best way to keep it hidden is to keep your hood shut. If your worried about the control box being viewable then put it inside the console or you could put it in the glove box. I've found that 99.99% of most people wouldn't know a alky kit from an oil pressure gauge.:D Just my 2 cents.

boostkillstres, I was thinking of mounting it at the frame like you said. I assume the lines are long enough to reach the inlet pipe? Did you encounter any problems? I haven't installed it yet.
