Here's how mine was mounted up before I retired the car and pulled it out.

What Dave did is a nice installation but isn't NHRA legal. The rules state it has to be off the proportioning valve. What you'd need to do is a short line from the valve to the line lock and then use a splitter for both lines from the lock. One port on prop valve will need to be blocked.

Charlie,

Do you have an example?

While that's true. I raced at a number of NHRA tracks over the years, the tech inspecters never said anything.

But wouldn't using a splitter for both lines defeat the purpose? Supposed to lock only the fronts for burn outs to heat the slicks.

You plug 1 line on the prop valve and run the splitter on the other port. Both lines attach to the outlets of the splitter Dave. You still get full flow to either wheel but the valve is in between the lines and the prop valve so it locks the fronts. This keeps the lock from effecting the prop valve and causing the brake light to come on, which it can sometimes with the way you set yours up.

like this
youll need a flare plug for the prop valve

Im going to hook it up like TurboDave and not worry about the brake lite or NHRA , I have never been to a NHRA race to run anyway, I run at outlaw tracks run what you brung and happy that you came .

Under the hood I bet Pacecarta's looks real nice. I'm looking into doing this too!

Yes, Charlie it's true the brake light did come on, and stay on until the next brake apply, which of course was just a few seconds later when I'm on the brakes trying to keep from rolling out of the burn out too far and crossing the start line. They frown on us little guys rolling out across the start line ya know. ;)

Pardon the nasty undercoating, this was 10 years ago when I first got the car. You can see the port I plugged and I used a brass block to connect the front lines. This is the easiest way to hook one in. You just need two short lines and a couple of 90 degree brass nipples from Napa to hook it all up. Where I hung it from that bracket is right behind the control arm so it is protected from road debris too.

As Clint (CGASTON) mentioned at the beginning of this thread.......How about using this line lock mount bracket from Scot W at GNS Performance?
