need new coils springs and shocks up front! just wondering what people are using and like the best.looking for a smooth ride!

H&R progressives on the back and straight-rate on the front works really well. Hotchkis sells them with their logo on them. Lowers the car about 1.5". Doesn't make it harsh. I recommend Bilsteins to go with them. KYB's if you have less $$.

Your question, in variations, is asked AT LEAST once a week. As I view the forum right now, there's ANOTHER post about front shocks ON THE SAME PAGE.

I find it very annoying to read the same threads over and over again. It clutters the forum so that when somebody actually does search, they have to sift through pages of useless crap to find what they need.

I used replacements from MOOG for a El Camino. Not sure on what part #'s they were. But I do remember the spring rate was lower than stock coils. It has better weight transfer for the track and a softer ride than before. I have the lowest line shock from Gabriel. Its a red painted shock

Just a follow up on this post....if you aren't in a big hurry, you can find used Bilsteins on the board fairly cheap. I've done this with both my cars, and got the last set, front and back, for $80 shipped. People buy cars and switch to race shocks and sell the Bilsteins. It's a bit of a gamble to buy used shocks, but I figure if they have a lifetime warranty, they must intend for them to last.
