I have a WE4 that I am getting ready to send to the body shop to get painted. I love the car but wish that it did have the rear GN spoiler on the trunk. It is a good time to add a spoiler if I am going to do so. My wife says I should leave the car as it is because it came from the factory that way. Being there was only 1547 of them made it would maybe compromise the car.
I need opinions from you guys on what you think. Should I or should I not add the spoiler? Will it compromise the car if i were to ever sell it? Should I leave spolier off since it is a WE4?
Let me know, I appreciate any input.
George

FWIW & IMHO:
Unless the car is virtually perfect, original, extremely low mileage WE4 I don't see the market doing anything suprising in the future for that particular series car. I would do it. I like the appearance and attitude of the GN spoiler so much that I would probably put it on any car that I had painted. If I wasn't planning on going through a paint job but was forced to try and match the paint after installation then maybe not. But if I was doing a paint job, definitely. I would look for that car to stay in proportion valuewise to the rest of the GN clan as it is now, and therefore I would not let a valuewise consideration down the road influence my decision of what I wanted to do now.

Rear spoiler for we4?

I got a great idea; buy a second lid put the spolier on it . Keep the org lid in your cellar for future use!

Some WE4s came with a spoiler (dealer installed option)

Personally, I don't see it hurting the value at all.

The only drawback is further adding to teh confusion of "is that a GN?" Some time ago I asked whether or not I should go with an intercooled turbo conversion on my 82 GN and I forget who it was now but they had some good advice: "have fun with it, there will still be plenty of concours resto's out there for the purists."

I agree with Miked. Take your original trunk off with the RPO code that says it did not come with a spoiler and use another one that you can drill if needed. Interchange them later on and blow people's minds.

just use some double sided sticky tape to mount it(so you can take it off later, just remeber to paint under the spoiler!:D

I would personally put the spoiler on because I like it better w/ it, and you seem to as well.
