Takes a long time for the "P" nickels to reach the west coast. I have all of the Jefferson nickels in the set *except* the P nickels from 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003. If someone from back east can find some nice specimens (I'm not too particular, this new they should be in pretty good shape), I would be willing to trade something for them. Maybe you want the "D" mint nickels that are so common out here. I also have a couple of extra proof nickels: I would trade either a 1975S or 2000S nickel for the missing P nickels.

Man the west coast gets wierder everyday. Back here in Philly Nickels are worth well $.05.

I have a '99 P nickle right in my pocket and the Phiadelphia mint is the building directly behind my office. I'm sure I can help you out. Let me check my jar full of change when i get home.

I'm surprised you see them at all. I'm in the middle of the country and about all I see is Denver mint coins. I've been saving as few sets of 50-state quarters for me & the kids and the P-mints are a bear to find.

BTW, the other day my wife received a $10 bill for change and her initial inclination was that it was fake. Upon further inspection, it turned out to be a 1928 series from New York. Even that took 75 years to get down here. :p

here is a little info....this will be the last year of the current style jefferson nicklel. A commemorative 5 cent piece will be out in early 2004.being a coin nut I must say that it is a disapointing design. If only our coins could have personality as they did early in the last century when artistry and personality of the designs made are coinage some of the best in the world.coins such as the buffalo 5 cent and mercury dime, and walking liberty half dollar and prolly the best design ever made for a coin the saint guadens twenty dollar gold piece.
