hey everyone hows it going ? I have a 87 regal i have no motor no trans. I am wondering what the best options for a transmisson would be ? I have a 700 r4 that i could rebuild and throw in there but i was woudnering on how it would fit what i would need to modify and if there is any length difference between the 700 and 200 r4s.What would you guys recommend

There is a length difference between the two plus the rear mount is in a different place. With the 700 you will need a custom length drive shaft, rear cross member will have to be moved and depending on what motor you put in the car the 700 has the Chevy bolt pattern. The 200 has the universal GM bolt pattern. There are some 700's out there with the universal pattern but they are rare.
 
thanks i think im going to rebuild my 700 just becuase i already have it and the parts are decently cheap. I also heard that the 700 r4 output shafts are a decent size bigger than the 200 r4. Which is stronger stock ?
