need some help

I have a rs232 cable i want to use to test my fast system. i got it hooked up to the pc. but does anyone know which cables on the harness end to hook up?

Serial (RS232) port pinout and signals

says 3,2,5 are the wires i need to hook up and when i did this no communication. how can i tell if the classic fast box is on and operating correctly?

the wires on my caspers custom harness is red black and white.

ok im a little confused about something else. On caspers diagram for my harness says the red wire is hot all the time. So i connected it to my battery junction block on the firewall. then the yellow wire is key on hot when in start.

Then the purple wire says start. now i connected this to the purple wire on the column. should this go to the starter solonoid?

Im going to try and call caspers tomorrow durign break but any help tongith would be great
