need suggestions with rebuild

what are my options for using another engine? Does it have to be a 3.8?

If I rebuild the 3.8, should I upgrade the cam? I'd like to run mid to low 12s with a few power train mods.

Are the head bolts reuseable? If not, should I go with studs or just ARP bolts?

I figured that I would match and smooth the ports while I'm in there, but is there anthing else I should know?

no real cam needed for 12s. if you look hard enuff here you will find the answers your looking for, you can make a stock cam'd car go fast with the right parts.

your best bang for the buck is ported head. after you have done the bolt ons....

do a search and you will get the answers you want

1. You can put another engine in, but WHY?

2. Nope.

3. No, they are torque to yield bolts. You have to buy new. Studs on a streetdriven car w/ AC are sort of a PITA b/c of clearance issues IIRC.

4. Not really, gnttype has a writeup on home-porting I think.
