Need to replace the whole mess

I need to replace all speakers and would like to find a receiver/cd player that fills the large opening that I can add a changer to later on. I don't need a lot of power just a good quality sound. The monsoon in our T/A has spoiled me.
Any suggestions by those of you that have done this would be greatly appreciated. TIA.
