I was driving today and noticed a sharp looking car ahead of me. I thought at first it was the new acura TL. When i got close enough to read the name on the back i saw that it was a new regal. what a beautiful car. buick should be able to sell alot of those.

haven't seen one yet- are they out already?

i predict that by post #5, there will be someone that says they need to put a turbo V6 in one and call it a GN, and someone else will reply that the GN's good name shouldn't be sullied by doing that..

They should twin turbo it and call it a GNX.;)

They're designed in Germany, and at this point, still being manufactured there until GM can get the plant up and running over here. Unfortunately for the U.S. market the only turbo'd option available is a little 2.0L I4. The Europeans get the turbo'd V6 engine. Nice car though, but too small for my taste.

The Saab based is not as advanced as the 4 and gets crappy
milage. In additon the lead engineer does like the cars balance
with the extra weight. There are rumors of a 2 or 3 door version
in the works. They could use the new turbo 3 liter motor but I
heard that is going in the camaro and maybe vette.

I plan to buy one for my wife to replace her Lexus is-250. I test drove one and liked everything about it except the power. It is a dog with the 2.0 n/a. I am waiting for the turbo version which comes out in another 60 days. I really liked the LaCrosse better, but it is going to be out of our price range and fuel economy range.

I did read in the last issue of GMHTP that they have a prototype done of the Regal GS. I don't remember the specifics, but it is a nice looking car (by today's standards).

A 6 cylinder Vette?!?!?!? What is the world coming to?

I talked to a sales manager and also a good friend today that has spoken with GM reps and he has said that are putting a plant in canada and then possibly producing the Grand National again.

No drivetrains for it have been settled on and no details are known either, but they are having a big celebration for arrival of the GS at the dealership and about 20 GM Reps will be there so Im going in my GN and going to start asking some questions.

Bringing back a 6 cyl vette is almost as bad as bringing back slavery.
but what if it's respectably fast?
i have no problem with a base model Vette with a 300hp DI V6 like the one in the Camaro in it.
it would probably be as fast as the last of the LT1 powered Vettes in 96..
wonder how low they could get the sticker price on something like that?

I was at a local car show that had a buick dealer sponsor and had a buick regal on display with a lacrosse next to it. I have to say the lacrosse was way better in looks. The interior looked plain jane on the regal. Both cars were price around 28 k

one thing; I recall the curb weight for the dinky little new regal being 3400 pounds for the turbo 4 cyl car....and it doesnt have as much space inside and outside as the G body regals thats approximately the same weight..where did all the extra pork come from!?

The Vette is a Supercar not a sportscar and the only American one. Do you see Ferrari, Lamborghini, or Bugatti offering watered down versions of their top cars?

My opinion is that it would lessen the badge if it didn't have the best performance engine GM had to offer.

Don't ever see the Vette with a 6. The Blue Flame engine almost put the Vette in the ground before it got started in 53-54. Then the 8 was put in the 55 and the rest is history. GM will not play with it's oldest remaining model. This year will mark the 57th Ann. for the Vette (minus the 83 of course). ;)

Only the ZR-1 is a Supercar. The base and Z06 would be just sports cars. Don't you remember the Ferrari Dino?

According to the web site the N/A motor is a 2.4L not 2.0
the turbo'd motor (available later this year) is the 2.0
