I'm trying to determine which cam between a roller 218 vs. 218/212 which is a split duration for my stroker motor, what is the difference.

About 6*! I think the lobe, aggressive or not, on the cam shaft is what you might what to discuss. I think in terms of duration 218/212 or 218/218 isn't going to make that much difference. I have 218/218 on my stroker and I think I like it, I haven't had a chance to light my car up yet. It's a 3312 or 3313 lobe, I don't remember, but that's probably more relevant than the duration. I could be wrong.

Then general rule with camshafts if that if you're torn between two grinds, go with the smaller one.
(and odds are that one is two big)

If it's a turbo engine, it's most likely way to big.
