Starting to plan for a trans rebuild this spring. I have the stock (tired) BRF in my car with stock D5 converter. 77k on both.

When I have my transmission rebuilt are there any downsides to reusing the D5 converter as is? Or, should I buy a new one or have mine freshened up?

Thanks... kind of clueless when it comes to torque converters.

Thanks in advance! Joel

conv

Have it freshened as there could be some trash in it that could ruin new tranny. There is a thread about rebuilding conv.

if you are planning on doing mods to the engine that will slide the power curve up the rpm scale you may want to have the stock convertor modified by us or elsewhere to bump up the stall however much is desired to allow the car to leave and take advantage of the extra hp and torque .www.ckperformance.com
