So after finishing a 3 year build and driving my car for the first time this past summer, something funny happened. I was leaving a local car show and decided to open this car up a bit, guess what.... no more second gear (at all, wont even manually shift). I dropped the pan to replace the governor spring after a suggestion from a few local buick guys. No surprise, my stock trans was full of material. Spring obviously didnt help as it wasnt out in the first place.

Heres my question, my 10" PTC converter was damn near brand new. I drove the car less than 10 times and only a few WOT blasts. Can i have this converter freshened up or do i need a new one? If i can just have it freshened up how much will it cost me?

Thanks in advance!

I just had dusty refresh mine an it was 220 plus shipping, to an from.

PTC did mine a couple of months ago. Cost me $150. Depends on what they have to do... I had several fins repaired/replaced and all their angles adjusted, and it was converted to a NLU.

Yours can be opened and cleaned. $150 will cover inspection and cleaning and replacing bearings.
