anyone else see the renderings of a new firebird in the latest hot rod? now i'd buy that if gm were to build it.

I don't think the will ever happen.
Big Brother is going to be holding GM accountable for the money they are getting. I am pretty sure this does not include spending money on a duplicate
version of an evil v8 sports car. More 2 liter DI and Hybrids will be the the norm.

Those pics have the LS9 supercharged motor.
Oh they need to build it.
Ill put in my order

I think I like the Camaro's more than the Firebird. The rear looks better on the pontiac thought.

I heard they might not even build the camaro anymore, highly doubt they will build a duplicate. I agree with John, it'll be more 2 liters and hybrids:frown:

Not nessassarily. Ford has no intentioins of dropping the Mustang. The issue is getting us to buy domestic cars. Not everyone wants a 2 liter, but we do want something that looks and drives as good as those Jap cars do. It's up to GM to get they're act together.

Never say never: What GM needs is to build cars that people actually want to buy. Much like the GTO did back in 64 the new Firebird could be the shot in the arm Pontiac, if not GM as a whole desperately need...unless they price themselves out of the ballpark (like Dodge has done with the Challenger)

The Firebird looks 100% better than the Camaro. The Firebird is the car that people want, so GM will not build it. They would rather give you something that you don't want and will not buy.

Unfortunately there is a ring of truth to that. Pontiac especially has a history of not getting the cars they want. John DeLorean's battles with GM brass when he was in charge of Pontiac during the 60's were legendary. (The GTO almost never happened-GM still thought the Corvair was going to be the magic bullet they needed to counter the Mustang!) In his day DeLorean was a creative genius, it was a shame he turned into a coke-addled loon...

this rendering looks better eh
