well not a current owner.. but quite in the hunt for a turbo buick. (at the latest id like to own one by the end of june)

ive loved these cars ever since i took my 93 formula firebird to my local drag strip and i got about 2 bus length difference put on me by one of them.. the look is what does it for me.

anyways ive gone through a couple of cars and i have finally put my self into a financial situation where i feel it is nesacary to finally buy one. so i figured i would hop on here and start reading about what i need to buy ..what i need to stay away from!!

anyways thanks in advance for any help i am sure you guys will provide!

Nick

oh i have been looking for sure on there.

theres jsut a few things i am still looking over tyring to choose the best route... most of it has to do with what to use for a tuning solution..... i cant forsee spending 2000+ on a fast system when a universal aem is half the price...and then megasquirt and what not... there is alot of reading i have to do still yet lol

Oh God no! Maybe high 10"s at most ....than again if I come across a typhoon or syclone sadly a gnx PR t type will be put on a waiting list

Sy Ty if u get 1 don't mod them. They don't hold up on mostly stocker parts

Im still a little new to this my self.
I do know, you don't need any high dollar stand alone unit to meet your goals tho. A factory modded ecm with all the nessasary electronics bought used will get you there under 1k.

Are sy ty that weak in the driveline? That's terrible to hear ...that's why I got rid of my dsm.

I'm looking.into.different chips and what not ...seems pretty legit. I just need to find one I don't ha e to flash and change chips I'd rather be able to do live tuning

Well if you have the funds and the tuning experience get what ever you want. Other wise a maf pro with the extender pro chip will be fun. You could run maf or SD, that why i got it. That and all the other available parameters that can be adjusted with the data from a power logger and WB system.

Joe

But all parameters can be adjusted?

Oh trust me I am not made of money ...I'd like to do it "as cheaply as possible" ...but I don't wanna buy something I change bedded the end of the summer

Sy and Ty's internally not much. Lots of issues though. Drivetrain is limited market and very pricey. It's speed density so over 15lbs you Better get a dam good tune with labtop program. And IF u build or rebuild the motor you need someone who has done lots and lots of these motors cuz there picky and its a 4.3 votex not vortec moto so not a lot were made. Fun as hell car for the streets and with a stall converter 1.6 60foots can happens and you'll destroy cars 0-60 but 1/4 mile no way...
