poor thing :( glad to see your saving it, welcome to the Fam., we're a proud but cynical bunch:):)....oh btw where did you find it.

Maryland in a parking lot.... New real big story or anything behind it. I just grew up loving these cars... I have a 1973 camaro that I am working on but it is not the car that was top dog as a kid for me. So I am going to complete the camaro and sell it a dump all that money back in to the GN

Damn its so sickening that someone would allow that car to get run down into that condition. That thing was HORRIBLY neglected. Im betting you got that thing CHEAP:D Great candidate for a resto. Keep us posted.

Ah...good. Well than, after that Id check the Spring Cleaning article over at gnttype.org
Engine looks like its seen better days too. As far as modding goes, I'd suggest some larger injectors 42lb and up and a matching chip. New fuel pump, 2.5 catback exhaust, 3" Downpipe and a Duttweiler neck intercooler. A MAF translator with an LS1 or LT1 MAF is a good mod too. Those are some good starters.

Hi Terance

Glade to see you made it here! It was nice to talk to you. Folks iv'e already sent him a ton of links and the spring cleaning was included. I told him the fuel system should be redone first! with a new pump / hot wire kit and a adjustable fuel reg. We don't want him going WOT with a baddd fuel system  POP! We can work from there. I'm sure the fuel pump is week and the filter shot. He mentioned that it needed an exhaust realy bad so sent him a link for that right away. Welcome aboard Terance!

What's cheap?????

$2000 or less.

THAT car needs to owned by someone that has mechanical, paint & body knowledge and is willing to restore it to it's original beauty. Hopefully, it will be a blessing that you will save it instead of it being parted out.

Hey Scot ya I got your links the other day I am going to call Cotton next week and order the exhaust I am going to go with the dual 2.5 cat back I will call you about that pump that you have

Well I didnt pay 2000 but the guy kept real good records on the maint that was done on the car he gave me alot of receipt for the work he had done motor wise the seem fine as far as I know I drove the cae 45 miles home at highway speeds

How many miles on that car? Do you have a garage to work on it during the winter? If not, get her a good waterproof car cover for sure. Hows the trunk and floor pans? Does the engine knock? Id hook up a GOOD engine diagnostic tool (like turbo link or directscan) and see what its doing. after that, id do a leakdown/compression test, and cut the oil filter open, and check out that oil, then send out that sample for an analysis. I'm suggesting all of this, because if the engines still ok, and it doesnt appear to be close to blowing up like a bomb, I'd progress further. But if it fails its leakdown/compression tests, you know to yank it immediately, and find a good builder close to you. that way, you can have some alone time with that body in the winter, while the engines being gone over.
And all that white in the picture, is that bad checking, or just oxidation. Before you have that body media blasted, I'd buy a nice buffer, and use that paint to experiment first, before they blast it all off. (unless youre already good at that stuff) I never turn down an opportunity to experiment. Those rims can be cores for Gbodyparts.com rims too. Good luck with your project and welcome to the world of Buick, the leaders in speed and luxury.

Your car really reminds me of my 87 T-TOP when I first got it. Trust me, it will all be worth it once the restoration is done. This boad has some reall cool guys that know their stuff and helped me out alot. I would keep the following vendors on your cell phone speed dial: Cotton's, Kirban's, And Gbodyparts. You may also want to contact Eric at Turbotweak to get a customized chip once you are ready- his chips are the greatest

As stated by Turbo6smackdown, your stock rims would make good cores if you choose the stock look. I personally got a set of remanufactured rims from Gbodyparts and am very satisfied.

Please keep us posted, I'm sure there are many of us on this board that would be very intrested in your progress!

Good luck on the resto, and keep us posted on how it progresses:) also look around the board always lots of good parts for sale to help with putting her back together.

With all the cars getting parted-out, stolen, wrecked, etc, it's always good to see a Buick get saved from the scrap heap. Best of luck getting it back in shape and you have all the help in the world at your fingertips with this forum and the Buick parts vendors.

might want to check those t-tops for rust. looks like a fun project though, with a little tlc you can get er better then new

Glad your going to restore it, damn shame someone let it get that way!
