My friend owns a 87 buick grand national and we are always asking each other for advice since our setups are similar to one another. I own a 2003 v6 mustang with built supercoupe stroker motor swap, turbo of course. I used a 4.2 crank from an f150 and bored the motor 30 thou so displacement is a touch over 260ci. 80lb injectors, twin pumps, 3000rpm converter, 6262 turbo, healthy cam etc... My car has run a best of 7.32 on 12-13psi @ 96 mph when it had stock displacement and stock crank. Plan with the new motor is to swap on a 6466 and have it capable of running 9's in street trim. Car weighs in at 3300lbs with me in it. Every nut and bolt, every bead of weld, every stroke of the keyboard was done by myself. I started with nothing for a maf curve and built one from scratch. I went from a tonsil style maf in draw through config to a hpx slot maf for blow through. Got the car almost ready for wot tuning, right now it's showing low 10's for af at 10psi. Load is spiking to 1.99 so this motor is going to be a beast when it sees 20. I know the gn's lock load for consistencacy but tuning ford ecu we shoot for actual load and adjust timing on the scale accordinglly.
Reason I joined was because I have gotten a lot of great tech here over the past and wanted to come in and say thanks to everyone here. Also swaping in a roller cam setup in my buddies gn in the next couple weeks and wanted to read up on the conversion as much as possible.
Great site guys!
