Greetings,I have been looking for a overdrive tranny for my 75 Corvette.Yesterday,I looked at a 2004r.It needs to be rebuilt. The price is $50.00.Could someone tell me if this is a good core to start with.My motor is a stock 350 low HP.It came from a 1983 Regal. Can someone also give me a rough figure at what the cost would be to have it rebuilt. Here is the numbers that were on the tranny.

Thanks much

Hi,here is another question that I would like to add.In a couple of years,I would like to install a modified high hp.motor to my Corvette.Would this tranny be a good candidate to handle a more extreme motor? From what I've read on this forum, the GN,and Monte Carlo ss transmissions seem to be the better ones from a performance standpoint. What's your opinion on this 1983 model? Is it suitable for modifying?Hope my questions aren't too stupid, but I'm not to knowlegable about the 2004r.Thanks again

the ss is a great core to start with.if your serious about a 2004r get a copy of our 200 page manual and you can build it yourself or study up on the trans at your own leisure.mthe man8ual is very specific about what you do and dont need as well as searching this forum for additional info.if youd like us to answer any other qs as far as price give us a ring.
