Hey guys and gals I just got my GN out of the paint shop Friday and man it looks great. A little history about the car: It was orginally from Illinois and the rocker panels and bottoms of the doors had some rust on them. The rocker panels were tore out and new ones welded in. The door rust was taken care of too. The car had been sitting in a barn in Mississippi for 4 years before I found it and rescued it. I have had the car for a little over a year and have gotten all the bugs worked out and had the engine rebuilt and got the car running well. I decided it was time for a paint shop since the old stuff was in bad shape. I put it in the paint shop and 9 1/2 weeks later I got it back. The whole car was stripped to the metal and repainted. I had them add the flames because I wanted something different. The way I saw it I will probably never have the car repainted again so why not give it that special touch. The flames are purple pearl metalic fading into blue. They look very sharp during the day and are barely noticable at night. When the light is on them you can see the color shift between the blue and the purple. The side flames don't show up very well because the reflection is outstanding. I never had that with the old paint and I can't believe how good it looks now. I have already gotten the approval of a few paint/body guys and they said the car was very clean and whoever painted it did a very good job. Here are a couple of pictures. What do you guys think?

wow only three posts. I read a lot but don't have much to offer in terms of technical feedback so I hardly ever post. :o

Looking good Skillet.. Now put some aftermarket wheels on that bad boy. I just got my T back from paint jail as well.

Don't have a way to post pictures though..

You bringing it to any of the local cruise ins??

I plan on being at the local cruise ins. I have been to a few this year in dads car. I have been trying to talk Scott into selling those wheels off the silver car but I don't think he is having any of it. :(

Was this car on e-bay about 6months ago ? I just thought I've seen that type of flame job before . Looks real cool good job on the paint work

Nope no ebay for this car. I've had it a little over a year and it just got out of the paint shop a couple of weeks ago.

Hey man

Car looks real good!!!!!! Remember me we have exchanged emails before! Did you have the car done in b-ham. Was there last weekend buying some parts from a guy, an from all places it was in Fairfield. Got a tip from a friend about this guy , he had 2 storage buildings an like two rooms full of brand new parts still in the GM rappers. In total 5 87 GN's an 2 parts cars an numerous other engines an trannys. I think i may have hit the GN GOLDMINE!! He had a 87 with only 42,000 miles for only 10,500 car look great-all the way down to a 87 GN he bought new in 87 with 2600 mile he wanted 28,000. But all these cars haven't been driven in forever. Man I need to get rid of my girlfriend so I can start saving!!!

yeah I do remember the emails. Its been a while. I have been by that place you are talking about. They pull those cars out like once a week, let them idle a while and put them back. At least I think thats the place. Wilson Paint and Body in Columbiana painted it. If you need something done be sure and tell them you saw the GN. They gave me a good deal and said they did it for the advertising. I should be bringing it to all the local cruise ins so keep an eye out.

Not sure if it is??

Man this place is like in the middle of the gheeto. When I was going there I could not believe it an there in the middle of this neighborhood was a sign GN parts. Man it was so weird . An a old guy with a oxygen machine on his waist owned it all. Does this sound familiar to yuo.If not where are you talking about??

Looks really good. I kinda like how the side flames aren't as pronounced as the hood. Looks intentional, kinda like you wanted it to look about factory if you saw it cruising down the road. Good going!

Yup out in the ghetto alright. That's the place. The side flames don't stand out as much as the hood but they stand out a little more than that pictures shows. The reflection is too great on that shot.
