I'm also curious about this. The balancer that this engine has installed has a counterweight on it & I don't recall my 3.8 having one, so I'm a little suspicious that this engine is a 4.1. Heads were a different # than I expected & inside of engine is pretty clean being that it sat for 11 years.

I want to paint my fender wells, does anybody have tips on what paint or steps to do?

Engine is out. Fender well is cleaned up. I need passenger side fender well, passenger side core support & passenger fender. Oh yeah & header panel too!

The car was crashed on passenger side. Anyone local to me hit me up need parts ASAP cause I need to send core support out to sand blast & powder coat.

what casting number is on the block also 4.1 will be cast in the side of the block to tell which block it is . See ya! john

I saw the 3.8 casted on the block.

I still don't understand even though it says 3.8 on the block harmonic balancer has a counter weight that my other 3.8 doesn't.

just looked at my (2) spare balancers they have that weight also. 390 & 569 is stamped on them what ever that means See ya! John

Pulled the engine apart & it looks like it was rebuilt & never fired up. Only big problem is I think whoever put it in the car only put water without antifreeze so the water jackets have built up rust. With that much rust I think the engine would overheat.

What kind of starter is that. I put an lt1 starter on mine.
