Since when is a 4l80e a 6 speed?its a 4 speed with lockup.

Thats the 6l80/90. From what V8Killer has said, it's built like the Allison trans and should be very strong. It's in the new GM pickups.

The TCI 6-speed is a 4L80E with more gears overdriven, there's an old thread on here that has the gear arrangement Info.

The GM 6L80E, takes more work than the 4L80E for durabilty.
