I'm going to put a smc kit in my car at the end of this month and i was wondering if there any bad side effects or problems I should know about. I've never heard any bad things about it but I don't know that much about the alky injection execpt that you can run more boost on pump gas and it doesn't mix well with race gas. So any info would be helpful. Thanks

I'm sure your question is posed from the standpoint of 'side effects from alky' and not 'side effects of the smc kit'. The SMC kit is widely used and quite popular - I think you will like it. As for alky, what you state is correct, although I haven't heard anything about mixing alky with race fuel and how thats any different than regular pump gas . But, one of the many benefits of alky is that you don't need race fuel to achieve the same or near-same performance. In any case, read Chad Schwartz's page and check out the links :

I think most people who use water-alky injection really love it, and see very little, if any downside. Myself included! :)

1of1035, Actually you can go ahead and mix it with race gas. People here are doing that...

Upside is the 'steam cleaning' effect that removes the carbon build-up in the intake surfaces. You will like it. Start with pure de-natured, and one-half pump speed, and work it up from there.

No downside at all, unless you consider having more spending money a bad thing..:)

Actually having more spending is a bad thing because it all ends up in the car instead of somewhere it should be like the bank or paying off a car. So thats a good thing but bad at the same time

What can I say, we can help you speed up the car, but not how to slow down the spending on the car.

:p

Not so bad if your alky kit only cost $150. Not much of an investment to run at least .5 faster than you could with pump gas alone. ;)
