I recently purchased an '86 GN. I know it has after-market turbo but I can't identify which one it is. I have other after-market parts under the hood need help identifying so I can know where to start improving or changing.

No way to tell which turbo you have without measuring the wheels. See a boost controller. Kenne Bell air intake. BOV. Looks like a adjustable wastegate acc. Do you know anything about the car as far as upgrades? Fuel pump. Chip. Ect.

Guy says he believes it has an upgraded chip. I know the exhaust was upgraded and cat removed. What is BOV? I was tracking the boost controller but guy says he never used it. Stock injectors but he stated with this turbo i can go up to 60lbs injectors. I'll have to check the fuel pump tomorrow.

Blow off valve. It's the valve in the up pipe close to the throttle body. Releases boost pressure when the throttle is snapped closed. Check the chip. It will most likely be marked to identify it. Read and learn as much as possible. Keep the boost turned down. What gauges are in the car? Is there a scanmaster?

by the look of the square section on the turbo cover it reminds me of the chinese T66s that were being sold a year or 2 ago.

turbo is an EBAY T66.

Compressor Wheel

Thanks everyone just trying to get a starting point. I ordered a scanmaster, did spring cleaning, and a turbo tweak chip 5.7.

I see a lot of members when ask what type of chip they can use, and majority will said TurboTweak http://www.turbotweakstore.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=1000

I have Full Throttle http://www.fullthrottlespeed.com/itemdesc.asp ic 050BUCOMMAND eq Tp+
To which I think is comparable to TurboTweak, Is there something wrong with Full Throttle or is it's just preference?

By the way, This not to start a war, just want some opinions

I think the FT chip offers way more choices, I have a TT chip because it's what everyone was running when I got it years ago.
IF I ever need another one, may give the FT one a try... so I too would like to hear opinions of those who have the FT chip.
