This is what i have, i run 94 oct gas 17# boost and when i roll into the throttle or at wot my casper knock guage goes red why is this? And konw i cant tell if i have an header leak on driverside or a lifter sticking. I dont have a scantool yet but working on getting one. I went to gntype.org to see the specs on the o2s and everything else can i check these with a volt meter? :confused:
 
You are right, you pretty much have to have a scan tool with these cars. The knock gauge is a good start but it just tells you what the knock sensor is seeing - to figure out why without a scan tool is difficult.
 
Thats just it i dont here no ping or pops. could a bad lifter show knock? fuel pressure is 50 with vac line off.
 
Try lowering the FP to 42PSI. I have heard that too much fuel can cause too rich a condition and allow the fuel to burn inside the headers.

You really want to get a scanner before you go, IMO. Otherwise, your just guessing about where you're at tune wise. Not to mention you might have a not so obvious problem, and find out about it, in an expensive manner.

Direct Scan, and Scanmaster, are both, almost must haves.
 
going to buy scanmaster when i have the money i'll wait until i get one to go to track.
