I'll try to make this brief as possible. I've been into turbo cars for the past 2 yrs. My main interest is DSM's (Eclipse/Talon/Laser). I'm currently leaning towards a WI kit vs. upgrading my FMIC. The current FMIC I have now isn't cutting it. With the current small turbo on the car (Mitsubishi 16G), the turbo is heating up the intake charge a little too much, so that the FMIC can't keep up (top to bottom core, low psi drop, bad cooling ability). I'm thinking a WI kit would help supress knock at the higher rpms in 3rd, 4th gear.

I've briefly followed the SMC kit and it's progress. The ONLY thing that really confuses me is the alky vs. water kit. Are they 2 diff. kits, or is it the alky/water mixture that is being referred to? Or is there just ONE kit, and some people opt to use water, while some opt to use a mixture? Are people still using WD40 in the mixture to lubricate the pump? I guess I should take the time out to read this entire section, but the numerous posts would take up entirely too much time.

I have a decent knowledge of how the WI Kit works, just would like to know which kit I would need. I don't need anything fancy, like 2 stage nozzles or anything. Just something to be activated when boost reaches 18psi or higher.

If anyone can offer any insight, or just give a few quick answers about the diff. kits, it would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

Only one kit with a few different options (single nozzle, dual nozzle, 1/2 gallon, 1 gallon etc). I run 100% denatured, because its easy to tune, and you don't have to worry about the mixture. Experts have said that about a 50/50 water/alky mix is the best for removing heat from the motor while still keeping the octane rating up. I use wd 40, but if you add water to the mix you will need a water lubricator such as RMI 25.
