When I hook up my new dry th350 to the turbo motor how do I go about filling it. Can I just bolt it up and drop the motor/tranny combo in and fill it? Or is there some percedure I should follow. This is a new tranny and converter.

Thanks,
Joe

Start with about 5 quarts in the trans. Have a friend start the car while you are ready with the funnel and about 7 open quarts of ATF waiting. As soon as your pal starts turning it over start pouring. Once you get about 5 more in after the original 5, start checking the fluid. On a new trans, you definatly don't want the pump to be running dry!! I just did this procedure on my 2004R and all went well. I think in the end I wound up with around 11 or so quarts in the new trans and convertor, don't know how much the T350 will hold.

It would be wise to put a couple of quarts into the converter
before installing the converter onto the tranmission. Make sure that the converter is completely engaged into the pump.

Thanks George for filling that in, I forgot to mention the ATF I put into the convertor............

It's according to the size of the converter. I put 3 1/2 quarts in my 9 1/2" converter before I put it into the trans.
