I installed a TA-49 on my 86 GN yesterday, and got everything bolted up. Pretty straight-forward. The worse thing was trying to get the oil supply line off at the block. What a pain. Anyway, what all do I need to do now as far as upgrades, mod's, to make sure this combo will work? I haven't driven the car yet. I've got the adj wastegate rod set to the same length as I had on the stock turbo, which was set at 10# boost. I'll start uping the boost a little at a time, and seeing how it does. Do I need the larger injectors, or is 36# enough? Do I need to do anything? Thanks.

Newbie speaks ;)

I'm not really the one to give advice on this stuff but I would think you would be around that point of needing a bigger set of injectors. I've also heard a lot about Alky kits and didn't notice one in your sig, that is one thing I would probaly get and maybe a new tune/chip.

36 ers should be fine...

UP TO A POINT. The size of injectors needed depends on how much boost ur runnin and where ur shifting at. I think u should be fine up to 18-19 pounds of boost and shifting at 5,000 rpms with those injectors if the car is tuned right. I will say this though---hold on cuz that car is gonna fly now. I kind of miss my old TA 49. Great turbo. If ur gonna be runnin the car hard make sure the fuel system (Pump) has been upgraded form the stock stuff. Too lean, Too long, Too badd. :(
