newbie here, question on idling

i have used the search option but dont seem to find what im looking for i just purchased a 85 t-type that just had new rings, bearings, oil pump etc done to it, when you start it up when it is cold the ide go up almost like its running on a high idle, then its comes down and fluxuates up ans down until it warmsup could it beold gas vacum leak, etc ionly paid 1500 for the car and im very happywith it, this wed site is one of thebest tools, im also looking for a repair manual because i noticed a couple of hoses at the rear of the enging not going to anything any help would be great

I think when it fluctuates like that it is that the TPS(Throttle Position Senor) is bad. I am not 100% sure thogh. One of the senior members will chime in about it for sure.

I would try doing the minimum air rate adjustment first then set the tps and see how it goes.

If you end up needing a TPS buy it thru Poston. I tried to get it aftermarket and it was 125-200 bucks. The only difference between the hotair TPS and the I/C one is the lever on the back of the hotair is on the opposite side as opposed to the I/C one.

I/C tps= 30.00 HA tps=125-200. Makes no sense
