I'm sure a lot of you are wondering what a person of my standing is doing here and asking questions about intercoolers, but rest assured that I have good intent. I'm not new to turbo cars as I've owned a couple and I'm looking into upgrading my intercooler. I good upgrade for my car is a Grand National intercooler, but I don't have any data I need to see if this intercooler will be up to the task at hand. The questions I'd like to have answered are:
What are the overall dimensions of the stock GN intercooler?
Are the inlet and outlet tubes the same diameter, are they all top mounted?
What does the shroud I hear about look like (and how does it attach to the intercooler)?
Is there some sort of fan that goes with the intercooler (I've read about this somewhere)?
How does it mount up to the turbo Buick cars?
What's the fastest most have run in a 1/4 mile with the stock IC?
As you've noticed I don't own a Turbo Buick, but I really could use the input of owners here and the answers to my questions. Also if someone has one for sale or something similar, please post here as well. I appreciate everyone's help in advance.
