So I took my new 87 GN to get gas this morning and do my first burnout in her.
WOW! Turned sideway with half throttle! These cars are very fast.

Anyway Im not running it too much till I get my new turbo installed. My turbo bearings are bad yet still runs like a champ. So my stupid question is how to your ignition key in the lock position when its being rather stubborn?

Make sure the shifter is all the way in park. If that does not allow you to turn the key back the grab the steering column by the instrument cluster and turn counter clockways then try and turn the key back.

If turning the steering column by hand did the trick then you are probably missing some or all of the bushings in the transmission shifter linkage. The shifter moves a rod that moves a rod that rotates the column into the different positions (PRND21) which allows the key cyl. to unlock in park.
