I've been doing a lot of reading here on the forum and I noticed that the 'biggest' tire that can fit on the stock rims is always called out as the 275/60/15 or the 50/15. Just curious, how is it possible for that size tire to fit on the stock t-type rims? Is it really safe to do that? If I take that size to the tire guy are they going to give me a lot of crap about it?

drove them for years on a street car (mid 11s) .. no problems

lol...especially since we just talked about it!!!!

Yeah, I've seen a lot of the threads talking about it I'm just curious as to how the tire can fit on the 7" rims!

I have had 275/60/15 Nittos on my stock GN wheels for the last two years without any issues whatsoever. Even cut 1.62 60ft with them.

You might have cut a 1.50 if you had them on 8" rims-better contact patch.

have those one a 8in rim 1.604
also fit fine on a stock rim...with aluminum drums
rubbed the frame a lil with steel drum

I'm hoping to order some wider stock rims from G-body once I get back from Guantanamo.

Anyone think I am going to have issues with the tire installer?
