No boost and back fire

I got a 87 with no boost brand new te44 with 60ib ink new couplers the wast gate opens and closes just fine I have fuel set at 42psi and all vacuum lines are good have 20 psi of down pressure not building any boost what so ever I just put new head gaskets and arp studs and I'm not getting any thing I did a boost leak test and all checked out and when I rev it will back fire and shoot a flame any ideas please help

Are you still running a cat at all?

What downpipe? Have you pulled the downpipe to make sure the puck is covering the hole?

I had a bgc and I thought it was that so I put stock on and it's same thing

Sounds like a intercooler coupling blew off or has torn open.
