no power?

My T takes forever to reach max bost (about 5 seconds). And when it does it pulls like ****. Could a faulty converter be to blame. Car idles fine, however when under load it doesnt accelerate and at higher rpms the tranny shakes. Any words. Also, car had very little tranny oil at one time. A guy at a tranny place said the tranny was fine but the converter may be bad. What do you guys think?

going out on a limb here, but what size turbo do you have? what stall is the converter.. is it a lock up? or non lock up? going out on a limb again, maybe your converter is locking up too soon... dont know though...
