Okay....I did a search and couldn't find anyone that had my combination of problems.
My car will start fine in the morning but when it warms up it will not start again until usually a couple of hours later. It will also buck and miss and occasionally it backfires loudly and dies. It throws a code 41, which I know is the cam sensor and this could prevent it from starting if it is going bad. The problem is that it does NOT have spark when it doesn't start. EVERY post I have read related to no starts says if the cam sensor is bad you will still have spark. I have replaced the crank sensor and it has a coil pack and module from Red Regal. I have replaced the cam sensor cap, but have not replaced the whole assembly as most folks have stated it is usually the cap. Also I have verified the tab has NOT been sheared off the rotor under the sensor cap.
The code 41 (cam sensor) and no spark is throwing me. Can a bad cam sensor assembly prevent spark and if so, how?
Thanks
