I was wondering if someone knew how to wire a switch to cut off the fuel pump so that the car cannot be started with out flipping the switch and sending power to the fuel pump. You can post here or email me at jerrad05@yahoo.com
thanks in advance guys

i have my pump hot wired....i pull the fuse on the power wire under the hood...i also disconect various other sensors if i leave it out of sight for a while...have even pulled the chip a couple of times
 along with a avtel security system...

i cannot say that i have tried to start it without the chip....i just assumed (maybe wrong) that car would not run....cannot try right now have blown head gasket:mad:

Use a multiple pole switch and interrupt the crank sensor wire near the ECM for a kill switch.

Put it where you won't hit it by accident whilst driving. ;)

If your car is hot wired you can open the trigger wire to the hot wire relay with a switch also.

Interrupting the stock fuel pressure relay won't work in many applictations that still have the oil pressure bypass switch used.

The necessary wiring shematic is on www.gnttype.org such that you could install any sort of switch you want.

BTW, the car will still start, run, and operate without the stock chip. It just runs in backup mode as if the chip had failed. It'll run REAL BAD, but run none-the-less.

A Thrasher chip with anti-theft is a much safer option. Yet many chip programmers today also have their version of such a feature.

Hi,
How about an Ultra chip, with built in no theft feature? The switch is easily concealed, it has lots of advance and boost options, and is configureable to 42.5 lb. injectors. Costs a bit, but with a club or column cover, is a pretty effective deterrent. Of course, you still have to protect against a tow away. Nothing's foolproof...

I would install a switch on the ground side of a circuit, maybe the ground wire for the fuel pump relay. Typical switches aren't designed to handle too much current flow and may fail down the road if installed in a power feed wire with current flow.

If you still have the oil pressure factory connector working on the car none of the procedures listed for the fuel pump relay kill will work excepting in the hot wire relay trigger wire which usually is in the back of the car assuming it's hot wired.

Gnttype info. won't work either for that switch.

I like the crank sensor idea. :p
